Event Description

Marked Landscapes features plein-air paintings by recent Hampshire College graduate Claire Lau. Having moved from France to Hong Kong, and then to the U.S., Claire’s physical surroundings often directly influenced her art. The series began earlier this year as part of her thesis exhibition, presenting often overlooked landscapes as evidences of the scars humans have left on Earth. She continued to execute these fresh, one-to-two-session-paintings around the Pioneer Valley, capturing moved earth and objects of waste.

Thanks for the note! the Living Art Studio is on the second floor, right above Inspirit Common, which is two stores left of Starbucks.

I still haven't made it to Amherst - I've been having some very busy weeks, and now that I live in Northampton it requires a special trip - but I will definitely drop by your installation before it closes.

I'm now teaching an oil painting class at Hartsbrook High School and I'm also working part time at the Guild. I'm doing some email design for the APE on the side, teaching a 9 year old drawing lessons and starting the application process for Grad School. So A LOT going on!

Hopefully I'll get to see you soon!
