It is difficult to isolate the specific essence that makes up Angela Zammarelli’s work, but when you see it, you might guess that she is inviting you to play. Much of her art is an accumulation of performance, soft… Continue

I found the perfect space in Greenfield, it is huge with a couple big rooms good for classes and studio a kitchen and some small studio...This place has a lot of potential and is relatively cheap, I am looking for some artists to go in on this 'artists coop' idea that I have to make the space afordable for more people who love the holistic approach to creativity . This would be good for people who dance, yoga, massage, music and more. Looking for teachers who may be interested and board…

An Interview with Maggie Nowinski
A fantastic facet of Project Elements Easthampton: Earth was that I had the great fortune of meeting some extraordinary artists that I had no idea were creating in my neighborhood. There is undoubtedly a strong contingency of innovative artists who are working in Easthampton, if not in the surrounding Pioneer Valley. They get a…

Our visioning session last week was somewhat clouded by the pressing need for funding to keep C3 alive. The topic of Survive, Revive, Thrive, resonates with our needs right now and it was also tricky to balance the lack of certainty of C3’s financial future and introducing new folks to C3 with brainstorming ideas for the coming months. In this meeting I was reminded that there are great people who care about these things and want to see C3 survive. I was also reminded of the importance to work…

So on October 29th a few of us got together and chatted about the C3 Arts Visioning document I had created and where we'd like to see things go in the coming months. Below is some text that generally documents that conversation.
We arrived at the next plan of action: A brainstorm and planning session around the theme:
Survive, Revive, Thrive which we will put into action during the winter months.
Join us Monday, November 9th at 5:30 to give us your two cents and hop… Continue

We've gained momentum and now is the time to take stock of what we want and where we're going. It's been a whirl wind year for C3 and we want your help in crafting the next phase of events and programing. Below (and
attached) are my initial reflections on what C3's arts programing is and where I'd like to see it go.
How can we best reflect our mission for C3 in our arts… Continue

Ten years ago today Matthew Shepard died five days after being brutally beaten and left for dead in Laramie, Wyoming by two young men. He was killed because he was gay.
While some strides have finally been made in hate crime legislation, there is work to do. Such heinous acts, such hate cannot be forgotten.
Tonight The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, an epilogue is being performed in one-hundred cities around the U.S. Locally it is being performed with free admittance at…

After two years, I am presenting the first installment of Project Elements Easthampton that focuses on the element Earth. The three-part multimedia exhibition is an ambitious project that incorporates installation, audio, photography, illustration, and historical study all about the city of Easthampton and its relationship to the element earth.
It should be a lot of fun. Sort of skewed microscopic view of Easthampton's history and it's people all meshed with my ideas of…

From Beijing with Love
Thursday, May 14, 2009
By Becky Everett
Artist and designer Mary Wiseman clearly values artistic freedom—when she handed out 100 blank journals for 100 days in Beijing, Wiseman invited recipients to decorate them any way they saw fit. The journals, which were passed from person to person during the 100 days, were embellished with words, drawings, collages and more by the anonymous…

When faced with a blank journal page, what would you add?
Designer Mary Wiseman wanted to find out on an international level. A
resident of Beijing, China, for 15 years, Wiseman distributed 100 blank
journals, for 100 days, throughout the city of Beijing. She invited
participants to add to the books anything they desired-words, sketches,
collages, and beyond- then pass the books to another. “I wanted to see…

The other day, I was listening to a program on the radio in my car, the last place, other than my computer, where I can give undivided attention. The topic of discussion was music and the featured guest was a vocalist. The guest said that there is a difference between the quality of a live performance versus a recorded one, attributable to the participation of the audience. Their conclusion was that audience participation enhanced the work. I heard the same thing once from a groupie, so it is…
